Investigations Bureau

The Investigations Bureau works closely with the Patrol Division in maintaining police service to the community by providing thorough investigation of all reported crimes. The detectives gather facts and evidence for criminal cases. Some are assigned to interagency task forces to combat specific types of crime. They conduct interviews, examine records, observe the activities of suspects, and participate in raids and/or arrests. The bureau is responsible for investigating a number of different crimes such as auto thefts, burglary, child abuse, missing persons, narcotics, gangs, sexual assault and robbery.
If you have witnessed a crime or would like to report suspicious or criminal activity in your neighborhood, call the La Habra Police Department at (562) 905-9750.
Records Bureau
The Records Bureau is located just inside the entry of the Police Department and is one of the busiest places in the building. At the front counter, the Police Service Aides provide courteous assistance and direction. The Records Specialists handle confidential communications with other justice agencies, prepare paperwork needed by the courts, send important letters to citizens, and help residents with questions over the telephone or at the front counter.
Criminal, Traffic and Civil Case Information Available Online
As of March 12, 2007, basic information about civil, traffic and criminal cases filed with the Orange County Superior Court may be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection. This service is available at no cost 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The public is invited to visit the Court's Web site at http://www.occourts.org/ to access the information. Click on "Case Info" located in the left frame near the top of the Court's Web page.
Communications Dispatch Center

The Communications Dispatch Center provides a vital conduit for contact between the public and the police. Communications Operators make critical decisions in the early seconds of each call to determine what instructions callers should receive and how police officers should respond. These police dispatchers not only answer calls to the police emergency line, but they also answer a wide variety of questions and refer callers to other departments and agencies as needed.
