Tell Me A Story
Fall/Winter Changing Exhibit
September 28, 2010 - January 16, 2011
Everything is a story. We love to hear them and we love to tell them. It’s our very first form of entertainment, invented thousands of years ago. A good story can teach, amuse, touch and inspire, and one good story always leads to another. There are as many ways to tell a story as there are kids with imaginations. Our Fall Exhibit, Tell Me a Story, encourages children to explore several fables from different cultures and to try out some different ways to communicate a story. They can listen to tales, act out a tale, dress up for a tale or write their own tale! Any choice is great fun and a great opportunity to learn all about the art of Story Telling.
In Tell Me a Story you can:
- Sit in a Teepee and hear a Native American legend
-Pretend you are a kid in a village in Africa
-Learn to tell a story without words
-Find yourself in the middle of a Japanese Fairy Tale
-Dress up as a character from English
literature
-Make up your very own story.
