Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week was born in the 1980s in response to the death of Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) agent who was kidnapped and murdered in Mexico in 1985 for his involvement in drug prevention activities.  The program's purpose is to raise awareness and provide education about drug abuse and offer alternative activities for youth.  The City of La Habra  joins other communities across the nation and celebrates Red Ribbon Week during each October.  If you would like to sponsor this event, please contact Melissa Rivera at 562-383-4209.
